No man is an island

I think that the poem and the visual poem relate to democracy as a metaphor. when John Donne writes No man is an island entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. it sounds like a democracy when someone is alone in a democracy that man or woman is most likely to be overruled however when a man has some people on his side he is more powerful. Also when Donne writes And therefore never send to know for whom
the bell tolls; it tolls for thee. it is like a vote you never know what the results are going to be but it will go towards one of the candidates or ideas.

Aung San su kyi

Aung San su kyi was detained under house arrest for speaking up to the ruling military government, and only a week ago she was released from house arrest. After her release she made a speech against the ruling government. she wouldn't shut up about what se believes in. there is a book similar to this it is called Airman. in airman the protagonist conor broekhart is convicted for something he did not do. Conor was locked away but his aim was instead of helping his people his aim is to make the worlds first flying machine when he escapes prison he hangs around and builds his plane and stuff but when hes done he goes and clears his name but he doesn't really give any speeches about rights and things but he gets out of prison to make things right just the way Aung San Su Kyi is fight the ruling military government they both try to make their country free from corruption

If I were Inanimate objects

If I were inanimate objects

Ferrari Hat, My badminton racket, Some Lego, Pictures of me growing up, my laptop, my phone, my Nintendo DS, three of my games, a warm blanket I have, Liverpool Poster

My Ferrari hat is important to me because I got this hat at the first Grand Prix I ever went to so I was really thrilled to have a memorable moment with it and I have worn it for almost three years so when I go to school everyone recognizes me by looking at my Ferrari hat its like the most epic way to describe myself.

The second thing that describes me would be my badminton rackets I love badminton I'm not bad playing the game to. Though I think that it is the most widely played sport in Malaysia because I think that every on wants to be lee Chong Wei the famous badminton player.

Lego is one of my favourite toys. I have been playing with Lego since I was 5 until now and I still love Lego its like silly putty u can do anything with it, you can make a stick person or a car as long as you think it is what you want it to be.

I would also bring some of my pictures from when I was little (even though I'm basically crying in every single picture because I hated pictures when I was little) because I loved living in Indonesia and I had a ton of friends there but then I had to move so I really cherished those moment.

I would bring my laptop because I cannot go 3 days without Facebook you might say I’m addicted, but what about you (dramatic music). It might not be any use if there is no Internet but my brother gave it to me so that there wouldn’t be any problems from switching over from a Mac to a regular PC so he gave his old Mac laptop to me and used his work laptop for all the stuff that he does now.

I would also grab my favourite books such as Artemis Fowl, Warhammer 40k and the Percy Jackson series because I like to read, just before I go to sleep and if I don’t then it becomes hard for me to fall asleep so I always have to buy more books to keep up. Its quite amazing how many books I buy at a time.

I would bring phone (even though it sucks). I got my fist hand phone 2 years ago and I was really happy it was an old Nokia and I loved it (until The Iphone came out) and I got almost all my friends numbers I was so happy but it took me a while to learn text speak and I was writing full words for the first week and everyone was saying stop writing such long sms’.

I would bring my DS because since my Gameboy was stolen my mom secretly (I think) asked my uncle to get me a new Gameboy and I was happy because I was getting a new Gameboy so I thought I’m getting a new Gameboy but when my uncle came to my house in Indonesia he gave me a DS and I gasped when I saw it he even bought me a few games so I was happy.

I would bring a PS3 game because when I was in Indonesia I was at my Taekwondo class. I came home. My maid walk to the window and the shutter covering it jutted out in front of her. I look at the places where my PS3, Gameboy, and PS2 and I found that it had all been stolen. I was crying and sobbing for days and so those games that were left behind I play all he time because they remind me of what happened

The blanket that we brought from an MAS flight, it was really warm and I loved it on the plane so my mom brought it back (don’t ask me how she did that) and its been sitting on my couch in front of the TV ready to warm up for a movie. Or if my bed got a peed on by my cat (it smells really bad) and it looks like I wet myself

I would bring my 98-99 Liverpool poster that my Dad found after moving to Malaysia. We were unpacking and my Dad opened a Box and he “unearth” a 98-99 poster for the whole Liverpool team I was happy cause Liverpool is the best team in the world and because I didn’t know who the players were in the 1980s and my Dad is very happy because he is a big fan of Liverpool the best team in the world and if you tell him which team you support then he will start making fun of whichever team you support.... so they try to argue for their favourite team but my Dad keeps on saying the same thing over and over again...

“How many times has Liverpool won the UEFA Cup?

“I don’t know 8”

“Nope 19 times”

“But that was in the 1970s”

“But still 19 times”

And this can go on for 10 minutes; it only stops once the opposing argument has given up. Then to cheer them up, we go swimming and wrestle on a bed filled with air but it gets kind of intense and we end up using drastic measures such as pulling on pants to get on the floating bed or wrestling underwater until we cant breathe and then rushing up to get to the top and then it goes over and over again

THE KL FREEZE

There was a KL freeze in about 5th grade and it felt awesome cause my brother was there my cousin was there to and it felt like everyone who froze we felt connected and where all one there were lots of brilliant idea like there were two people one was bending down to pick something up and the other was stealing his wallet. my cousin and her friend were holding a phone up to her hand and blocking all the traffic from out side and even a guard tried to move them but they stayed true to the freeze team and stayed still while i was getting a shoulder ride on top of my brother. when I was with every one it felt like we were in it like a team playing soccer except I didn't know everybody that was on my team so I was pretty happy and all the people laughing at me

A hero holds purposes appropriate to man and is, therefore, a thinker. blog post

A hero holds purposes appropriate to man and is, therefore, a thinker.

A hero holds purpose to man means and is, therefore a thinker. means to me that a hero is nothing if he just runs around breaking stuff he has to have a brain to function like a computer it only does what you tell it to. also a hero always has a purpose if he doesnt have purpose then he has no motivation then he doesnt have a reason to help people and if the hero has no motivation then he gives up and people start getting hurt again then more heroes will appear so it seems to me like a circle of heroes that goes on and on

Where The Hell is Matt????

Matt Harding was a genius to have created a video that included lots of countries. He combined his travelling with dancing and met lots of people, during the part of the video where people join him it appears that as he moves around more and more people want to join him linking with his essay for this I believe that stated that everyone wanted to be connected. Matt's video showed the whole world globally connected because they wanted to join in which ties to my This I believe "I believe in a global Connection

Matt's Video is on Youtube and this URL:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlfKdbWwruY

compliment guys

I think that the compliment guys is a good idea because people need compliments daily to lead a good day. compliments put smiles on people faces which in turn gives people a boost of self-esteem making them think "gee what a great day it was I think that tomorrow is going to be even better with those 2 guys shouting compliments at every one". the compliment guys also say that people sometimes just have a bad day at work and I know that when people come back from work they stay angry for the next few days and all that need to be done is give them the best compliment to make them happy

Lois LOwry blog

I would not want my future decided by others because its feels like its already set in stone and i think that the future are choices and you choose what you want to follow. like in a book that twist and turns with no pattern and is not very predictable while in the giver it seems that every one is leading the same life but in a different way like Jonas, hes basically doing what his sister going to do except the getting selected cu hair get a bike get job assignment and get a family unit and later move in to the house of the old. So to me it looks like every day is like a schedule at school. First get up and eat breakfast Etc. but with our community its get up think what you are going to do today and do it. so i say Jonas' community is a little messed up

the end of the tripods

I think that in the next book the city of gold and lead Will, Beanpole and that guy who's name i don't remember goes to the tournament and wins but beanpole doesn't and he goes to the tripod city there he maybe finds Eloise and discover what the tripods are.
I think that the book is a little bit boring and a little bit predictable and sometimes when i read it i fell asleep most of the time so its not one of my favorite

Freedom post

in this passage and the whole book freedom is key everywhere Will and his friends go. like in the of the quote there is a sentence saying "What value did courage have, without a free and challenging mind to direct it?" this passage says simply whats the point of courage without a free mind to show it the way. throughout the book Will meets capped people and they don't seem very lively, because the capped minds listen and their only function is to move their body and work for the tripods. but Will and his friends are not capped and have different qualities. like Jean Paul (beanpole) who is an "inventor" he rethought the steam engine or as Henry and Will called a giant kettle thats why the people of 2089 dont move up in technology because their minds are not free. sry but I forgot to mention what vagrants or uncapped they Feeling, emotions and learn new thing but most importantly how to deafeat the tripods.

Holiday Snapshot

.... I dangled over the hull of the boat groaning watching the vibrant yellow puke floating away (sorry this is a snapshot right so i have to describe my puke)my friend behind murmured "I'm definitely not going in the water" I got up and faced my dad with a sorry face he gave me a bottle of water I guzzled the water and could feel the taste of milk and noodles going down my throat. I put my snorkeling mask on and dove into the water. I looked around I did not spot anything for a few moments then I spotted a ripple and noticed a large bright yellow and blue colour floating around my friends dad and saw a piece of bread with fish darting towards it. I scouted around the reef for a while diving down but not to far.

I heaved my body out onto the boat and easily slipped off my flippers and the boat took off for coral fishing

A skill I learned at school was in P.E. I learned that when dribbling a basket ball you should dribble it lower to the ground. When we were given the Mesopotamian test I did the review (and Ms. Mac gave us cookies :D) and read the textbook 4 times (a very long time) and i got a "B" ;). I want to learn how the earth would roughly look like in 2552? I contributed to the MS community by throwing my rubbish away after eating. I am trying to improve my math grades and science grades by doing the reviews
